JOB TITLE: Non-Foods Clerk
DEPARTMENT: HHB
Brief Description of Job Duties
Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service. Ordering, stocking, straightening of non-food items located throughout the store. Building and maintaining displays that are both profitable and attractive.
WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:
Accountable and Reports to (Job Title): Store Director, Assistant Store Director, PIC, other Non-Foods Clerks
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern and patience in all customer interactions and treating customers as the most important people in the store.
Smiles and greets customers in a friendly manner, whether the encounter takes place in the employee's designated department or elsewhere in the store.
Assists customers by: (examples include)
escorting them to the products they're looking for
securing products that are out of reach
loading or unloading heavy items
making note of and passing along customer suggestions or requests
performing other tasks in every way possible to enhance the shopping experience.
Answers the department telephone promptly when called upon, and provides friendly, helpful service to customers who call.
Works with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment.
Orders product for shelves and displays. Deal with automatic distributions. Checks invoices against delivered product.
Responsible for proper inventory control (pricing, ordering, stocking).
Coordinates and participates in physical inventories.
Responsible for cleanliness of the non-foods areas.
Takes special requests for product either in person or over the telephone.
Identifies key areas to place specials or seasonal items within the store.
Works with customer issues and product problems.
Keeping product in appropriate storage area neat and organized and replenishes merchandise.
Adheres to company policies and individual store guidelines.
Reports to work when scheduled and on time.
Protects associates and customers by removing potential hazards from the sales floor in a timely manner.
SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES: (These are considered occasional in nature)
Helps with and may decorate for in store events and holidays.
Assists in other areas of store as needed.
Performs other job related duties and special projects as required.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Instructing, assigning work, reviewing work, planning work of others, maintaining standards, coordinating activities.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED TO PERFORM JOB:
Must have the ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Ability to do simple addition and subtraction; copying figures, counting and recording.
Must be able to interpret written work instructions, fill out proper forms and send back guaranteed items.
Visual requirements include vision from less than 20 inches to more than 20 feet with depth perception, and field of vision.
Must be able to work shifts of varying length and times, including nights, weekends and holidays.



Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
