Human Resources Generalist

Control Devices located in Fenton, MO has an immediate opening for HR Generalist. This position will carry out responsibilities in the following functional areas: benefits administration, payroll, employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, recruitment, and employment lay compliance. The HR Generalist provides administrative support to human resources functions as needed. Key component in positively promoting the Company and creating a positive and safety-minded work culture.
Recruitment
Responsibilities:
o Efficiently and effectively fills open positions in a timely manner
o Builds applicant sources
o Works with Management to create and update job descriptions
o Place/Post job advertisements and opportunities
o Assist in benchmarking positions against market to ensure competitive compensation
o Maintain recruitment metrics
o Determines applicant qualifications by interviewing applicants, analyzing responses, and comparing qualifications with job requirements.
o Arrange interviews with Managers by coordinating schedules. Coordinate travel, meals, etcif necessary
o Draft offer letters for approval
o Conduct background checks and coordinate post-offer drug tests
o Liaison between temporary staff and external staffing agencies
o Maintain records for referral bonuses and ensure timely payout
o Ensure Company's hiring practices are in compliance with employment law (Federal and State levels)
o Conduct exit interviews
Training
Responsibilities:
o Develop and implement an effective, company-wide training program
o Assess training needs for different departments and department heads
o Design training material
o Coordinate and/or conduct training sessions/presentations
o Keep up to date on creative and innovative training techniques
o Implement on-boarding process and program
o Conduct new hire orientation
o Ensure Company's training program and recordkeeping is in compliance according to law, OSHA standards, ISO, and internal Company procedures
Human Resource
Responsibilities:
o Process and submit weekly payroll for temporary staff through external agencies
o Create and develop various reports and reporting methods; analyze reports; collect and provide data for reporting
o Create and maintain employee files
o Writes, revises, edits and proofreads Company policies, procedures, and related documents as needed
o Coordinate new hire communication and enrollment for benefit programs including; medical, dental, vision, life, AD&D, FSA, FMLA, and the 401(k) plan.
oo Back up Manager, Human Resources with processing bi-weekly payroll if necessary
o Assist Manager, Human Resources with projects and assignments as needed
Required Education:
o A Bachelor of Science in Human Resources, Training and Development or equivalent
Required
Experience:
o 2-4 years progressive experience in a human resources position
o Considerable knowledge of principles and practices of personnel administration
o Strong understanding of state and federal requirements and regulations
Required Skills:
o Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
o Must be a team player who has excellent written and verbal communication skills
o Must be able to work independently in a fast paced environment and handle multiple work assignments simultaneously
o Must possess problem solving, interpersonal, adaptability, planning/organizing skills
Preferred Skills:
o Knowledge of OSHA and ISO Audit requirements
o Familiarity of control documents and change procedures
o Previous work experience in a manufacturing environment
