This position is located in Region 7, Superfund Division, Special Emphasis Remedial Branch, Fenton, Missouri.
Occasional travel to the Regional Office in Lenexa, Kansas will be required. The position requires the incumbent to work at various Superfund sites near Park Hills, Missouri.

You may have limited exposure to hazardous materials. At the entry level of this position, you will:
Conduct field oversight of contractors performing environmental characterization, cleanup, and construction activities at Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Superfund sites.
Review contrasts and ensure contractor compliance with all contracting requirements. Serve as a Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) on multiple contracts.
Provide support to Remedial Project Managers. Attend meetings, plan/scope field activities, estimate cost/time associated with field activities, and review contractor submittals.
Communicate with Remedial Project Managers, Contracting Officers, and contractors. Make recommendations to resolve problems, propose approaches, and/or take some course of action which promotes accomplishment of program objectives.
When entering a Federal job at a grade level lower than the highest promotion potential level, you may be promoted to more complex duties and work more independently, as your career progresses.
You will spend less than 25% of your work time on contracts, grants/cooperative agreements, and/or interagency agreements.

This position is designated as Moderate Risk and requires a background investigation. Unless an appropriate background investigation is already on record with the Office of Personnel Management, you must undergo a background investigation.

We are looking for at least one year of specialized experience related to this position as described below:
To qualify for the GS-09 level, you need to have at least one year of full time experience defined as experience with work on environmental sites; working with contracts or contractors; working with team members to solve problems and improve service; OR master's or equivalent graduate degree; OR 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; OR LL.B. or J.D., if related.
Graduate Education: Education at the graduate level in an accredited college or university must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work.
