8K - $58K a year The HR Compliance Specialist is primarily responsible for providing administrative support focused on compliance with Employment Eligibility Verification and Minor Labor regulations and policies.
The Specialist assists with tracking, preparation, and completion of regulatory filings, registrations, and compliance documents and assists with audits and with implementing and monitoring compliance controls.
Duties & Responsibilities The primary responsibilities of this job include, but are not limited to:
Provide administrative support focused on compliance with employment eligibility and minor employment regulations and policies Assist with coordination of the tracking, preparation, and completion of regulatory filings, registrations, and compliance documents Assist with audits and with implementing and monitoring compliance controls Act as key contact for I-9 and E-verify activities, following up with Managers on issues and educating where necessary Act as key contact for minor employment activities, following up with Managers on issues and educating where necessary Maintain files and other documentation required by departmental procedures Work in partnership with other team managers/leaders as required Exhibit initiative to recommend actions to improve existing processes Generate routine reports related to regulatory and policy compliance Work with both internal and external sources to ensure Panera's compliance with all employment related regulations across all business units Monitor industry news; network with other organizations to stay abreast of regulatory and legal requirements for employment related regulations, benefit plan offerings, vendor contracts and mandated communications.
Qualifications (Education & Experience) Qualifications include:
Education Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field is preferred (or equivalent experience) Experience 1-3 years of general job experience Experience in Microsoft Office tools, specifically Word, Excel and Outlook.
Experience with researching, reading and interpreting legislative and legal documents, state and local laws and regulations, related federal regulations and regulatory compliance requirements (preferred).
Experience with E-Verify (preferred) Experience in multi-jurisdictional HR compliance relative to minor employment regulations (preferred).
Specialized knowledge Some knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to employment / human resources Skills Strong communication (written and verbal) Detail and deadline oriented, with strong problem solving, critical thinking and organizational skills.
Verbal and non-verbal reasoning skills Effective time management, organizational, and research skills Abilities Ability to build relationships and collaborate with internal and external contacts.
Ability to balance, organize and prioritize multiple tasks Ability to handle data with confidentiality.
